The Elgin Valley and Grabouw is a great tourism destination. It offers as much uncluttered quietude, scenery, eateries and things to do, as it does dignified cool climate, expertly crafted wines. Arguably, no place is too far-flung if the experience is on your bucket list. However, we do offer the added benefit of being a mere 45 minutes from Cape Town.

We’ve got a wide range of accommodation options from camping to five star pampering. Practically everywhere in The Valley has spectacular mountain, vineyard, and orchard views. There are also plenty of eateries, all of which benefit from the open cart, seasonal fresh produce found on our farm to table menus.

Activities include the best mountain biking in the country, quad biking, sunset river or vineyard cruises, wine tasting, open air concerts, art browsing, fishing, or just sitting and doing absolutely nothing. This is, after all, the ideal place to just perch, relax and listen to the rural sounds of nature with a glass of wine in hand. There are plenty of nature walks and hikes and all kinds of anecdotal local stories and history.
