La Roche Estate

La Roche Estate

La Roche Estate – at a mere 5 kilometers from the Franschhoek city center lies La Roche Estate.

The property operates both as a working farm and an exclusive Franschhoek Valley destination for weddings, events, luxury accommodations, private wine tastings, and premium picnic experiences. With panoramic views of beautifully manicured gardens and vineyards, framed by majestic mountains, our estate boasts the best of what the hospitality industry has to offer.

La Roche offers three luxury cottages all of them self-catering and equipped with their own hot tub and one luxury self-catering family suite which can accommodate up to 6 guests.  The estate provides a tranquil and relaxing getaway, while at the same time catering to the needs of those who are looking for a more active holiday.  We are located a short distance from the Berg River Dam, which is surrounded by hiking and mountain biking trails. On the estate itself, we offer fly fishing, premium picnic experiences, bicycle rental, and wine tastings.

The estate also operates as a wedding venue. La Roche Estate has the perfect space for your special day. Take your pick from our venues, the enchanting sanctuary in the middle of a lake, the grand Italian-style festival hall, or opt for the beautiful grass deck area for an outdoor event.

Our grand venue, The Festival Hall is a meticulously built, spacious hall mirroring the Italian finishes and Roman architectural design of The Sanctuary.

A grand, antique wooden door on the southern wing leads into the opulent atmosphere of our Bacchus Lounge. The Bacchus Lounge and Bar is a comfortable space to relax and enjoy a few drinks whilst appreciating the views.

The Feast Hall boasts a heated terracotta floor, high ceilings, wooden beams, and Italian roof tiles, which all combine to create a warm, celebratory environment, which you and your organizers can easily tailor to the tastes of your bespoke wedding.
